1. What is Solar Tempered Glass?

  Solar tempered glass is a high-performance safety glass specifically engineered for solar energy applications, produced through a precision heat-treating (tempering) process that drastically enhances its mechanical strength and thermal resilience. Unlike standard glass, it undergoes controlled heating to approximately 620°C followed by rapid quenching, creating a durable material that excels in outdoor and high-stress environments. Widely adopted in solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, solar thermal systems, and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), it delivers exceptional durability, withstanding extreme temperatures, mechanical impacts, and harsh weather conditions—all while maintaining optimal light transmittance to maximize energy conversion efficiency.

- High Strength: Boasts 4–5 times the strength of regular annealed glass, achieved via the tempering process that forms compressive stress on the surface and tensile stress inside.
