It is produced via a thermal tempering process—heating float glass to ~600-700°C and then rapidly quenching it—creating high surface compressive stress and internal tensile stress. This treatment boosts its mechanical strength by 3-5 times compared to ordinary glass, making it highly resistant to impact, bending, and thermal shock.
