Solar Tempered Glass

Product Description

Solar tempered glass is low-iron ultra-clear glass developed for photovoltaic module manufacturers. It serves as front cover glass for crystalline silicon modules and as front or rear glass for dual-glass structures. The glass is fully tempered for outdoor mechanical strength and impact safety, and can be supplied with optical coating options, silk-screen printing, hole drilling, and finished edge treatments for direct use on the module production line.

Higher transmittance supports higher irradiance on the cells. Final values are confirmed against the order specification and may vary slightly with thickness, coating design, and silk-screen coverage.


Thickness Range

  • 3.2 mm — mainstream front-cover thickness

Thickness tolerance follows the customer drawing and technical agreement.


Processing Features

Silk-screen printing
Ceramic frit printing is applied before tempering. White or black grid/mesh patterns, edge masking, and custom artwork are available. The print is fired in the tempering process to form a durable glaze layer.

Hole drilling
Cable holes, mounting holes, and custom openings are drilled before tempering according to the approved drawing.

Arc edge & chamfer
Rounded (arc) edges and chamfered corners improve handling safety, reduce chipping risk, and support cleaner assembly fit. Edge details are defined by drawing.


Packaging & Shipment

Export packaging uses protective interleaving, moisture-resistant wrapping, and edge/corner protection. For container shipment, packs are loaded with even weight distribution and firm bracing so the cargo remains secure during sea and road transport.
