Product Description

Aesthetic &High-Efficiency Modern BIPV Solar Glass Suitable for Integrated Facede&Roof Energy Syetem

High-performance BIPV solar glass combines architectural elegance with renewable energy. Ideal for rooftops, facades, and green buildings. High transparency, low iron, long lifespan. OEM/ODM supported. This product integrates solar cells within high-grade tempered glass, allowing natural light to flood into the space while generating clean electricity for the buildings. Our BIPV Solar Glass is the perfect fusion of high technology and architectural beauty, generating clean energy while transforming the look of your building.

Types of BIPV Power Glass Technologies

  1. Thin-Film Solar Cells (CdTe, CIGS, a-Si)

    • CdTe (Cadmium Telluride): High efficiency (~18-22%), cost-effective, semi-transparent.

    • CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide): Flexible, lightweight, good efficiency (~15-20%).

    • a-Si (Amorphous Silicon): Lower efficiency (~6-10%) but better performance in low light.

  2. Crystalline Silicon (Mono/Poly) in Glass

    • Opaque or patterned for partial transparency.

    • Higher efficiency (~20-24%) but less design flexibility.

  3. Perovskite Solar Glass

    • Emerging tech with tunable transparency & high efficiency potential (~30% in tandem cells).

    • Still in R&D/commercialization phase.

  4. Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) & Organic PV (OPV)

    • Lower efficiency (~8-12%) but highly customizable colors/transparency.

Key Features & Benefits

1. Power Output

- High Efficiency Solar Cells: Delivers stable power generation, even in low-light conditions.

2. Transmittance

- High VLT (Visible Light Transmittance): Balances power generation with natural light illumination. Offers a clear view and bright interior.

3. Material & Structure

- Tempered Glass: Made of high-strength, double tempered glass for safety and durability.

- Semi-transparent/Flexible Design: Available in clear or colored options to match various architectural styles.

4. Durability & Lifespan

- Long Service Life: Over 25 years of operational life.

- Weather Resistance: Waterproof, anti-corrosion, and wind-resistant. Suitable for harsh outdoor environments.

Applications of BIPV Power Glass

1. Building Facades & Curtain Walls

It is installed on exterior building walls to replace traditional glass curtain walls. It meets lighting, windproof and waterproof requirements, while generating electricity for the building. Ideal for office buildings, commercial centers, hotels and high-rise complexes.

2. Sunshade & Canopy Systems

Widely applied in outdoor sunshades, corridor canopies, entrance awnings and parking lot sun shelters. It effectively blocks sunlight, reduces building heat load and produces renewable power.

3. Skylights & Roof Structures

Transparent and semi-transparent BIPV glass is used for daylighting roofs, atrium skylights and terrace roofs. It creates a comfortable daylight environment and realizes rooftop power generation.

4. Public & Municipal Projects

Suitable for scenic pavilions, subway entrances, bus stops, campus buildings and industrial parks. It fits low-carbon city planning and improves the aesthetic design of public facilities.

5. Villa & Civil Residential Buildings

Customized BIPV power glass for villa sunrooms, balcony railings and courtyard enclosures. It is stylish, safe and energy-saving, meeting household distributed power needs.

Challenges & Limitations

⚠ Higher Cost – More expensive than conventional glass (but offsets energy costs over time).

⚠ Regulatory & Standards Compliance – Building codes must adapt to BIPV.

⚠ Efficiency Trade-offs – Higher transparency = lower power output.

⚠ Durability & Degradation – Some thin-film tech degrades faster than silicon.
